“Yoga (/ˈjoʊɡə/;[1] Sanskrit, योग Listen) is a group of physical, mental, and spiritual practices or disciplines which originated in ancient India. There is a broad variety of Yoga schools, practices, and goals[2] in Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism.[3][4][5] “[1]
The word “yoga” comes from the word “Yuj” which means union. Yoga is the union of body, mind, and soul with the Supreme/God/Universe.
The person who follows the yoga philosophy and practices with commitment is a yogi, or a yogini (usually denoting a woman).
