In this video, Olga from Holistic Healing Therapy shows exercises to help increase flexibility and strength in the whole body, as well as improve the flow of prana (chi) – the life force.
Olga focuses on Pawanmuktasana series exercises, which are simple, yet profound exercises, that, much like physiotherapy, can help improve the range of motion, strength, and flexibility in the whole body. Olga also puts an emphasis on forward bends, very beneficial for calming down the heart, detoxifying and stimulating digestion, as well as backward bends, so helpful in releasing stress in the lower back and opening up the heart.
The big accent in this class is on mindfulness – being able to simply observe the breath without changing it while staying in long-held postures. This exercise helps concentration and can be a wonderful training for mindfulness in everyday life, assisting in combatting stress and anxiety.
Olga finishes the class with a simple, yet profound pranayama exercise – an exercise to extend life force; and bandha – an energy lock in the form of a chin lock, followed by a few minutes relaxation in savasana. This makes the yoga class an all-round exercise on your body, mind, and energetical body, suitable for beginners, as well as more advanced yoga practitioners.
Olga has been trained as a Hatha yoga teacher in India and teaches Traditional Himalayan Style Yoga across Surrey and London, UK, where she focuses on the holistic approach to doing yoga. Her classes include asanas (physical postures), kriyas (cleansing techniques), pranayamas (exercises to extend life force), mindfulness and meditation exercises, bandhas (energetic locks), mudras (hand gestures to relocate energy back into the body), chanting, techniques to release stress, anger, and tension; kinesiology techniques to improve health and wellbeing, and many others, making her lessons a wonderful holistic experience working on mind, body, and soul.

Olga and Gary are fully insured and certified yoga teachers trained in India, members of Yoga Alliance Professionals. They teach Traditional Himalayan Style Yoga classes across Surrey and London, UK. The style of yoga they are teaching is holistic and incorporates various yogic and holistic techniques to help boost health and wellbeing, as well as reduce stress and anxiety.
