Press release for immediate release.
Japanese science helps reveal the healing power of nature at new events in Surrey on July 10th.
HHT in co-operation with Surrey Wildlife Trust launches a series of new Nature Therapy events across Surrey this coming weekend.
Shinrin-yoku is a term that means “taking in the forest atmosphere” or “forest bathing.” It was developed in Japan during the 1980s and has become a cornerstone of preventive health care and healing in Japanese medicine. Scientists in Japan and South Korea have established a substantial inventory of scientific literature on the health benefits of spending time under the canopy of a living forest. This body of work is the foundation for our new Nature Therapy events launching this coming weekend.
Some of the scientifically proven benefits of spending time in nature include reduced stress levels, stronger immune system response, and a stabilised cortisol cycle.
We invite the media to join us for our launch event on July 10th at a private nature reserve run by Surrey Wildlife Trust in Godstone, Surrey. You can also join us for our second event on July 16th in Guildford at Newlands Corner.
We are very fortunate to be working in co-operation with Surrey Wildlife Trust. “Surrey Wildlife Trust currently manages 82 sites, together covering almost 8,000ha, which is 5% of the land area of the county.
ABOUT GARY AND OLGA:
Gary and Olga have traveled extensively visiting ancient sites and forests, from their studies of indigenous wisdom they have come to understand that something vital is missing from modern educational systems. Where was our education on emotional health and well-being? How should we handle stress when life takes an unexpected turn? Most of us have no idea what to do. To find useful and helpful tools, we have to look to other cultures and times long past.
