Bees are wonderful! You only need to watch a bee for a few minutes to understand that. They are truly hard workers, and their role in nature is crucial – from pollinating the decorative flowers, to creating honey. Without the bees, growing vegetables and fruit will be very hard if not impossible in the long run, as they ensure the reproduction of the plants. It seems like the whole life in nature depends on these amazing tiny creatures, though many of us seem to take them for granted…
Indeed, humans are currently doing lots of damage by destroying bees’ natural habitats. Bees are so sensitive they are even believed to suffer from biomagnetic pollution created by the mobile communication… To ensure the continuation of life in nature, we need to start protecting these incredible creatures. And protection, we believe, starts from understanding. Here is one exercises you can practice.
Try to pick a bee in some flowering bush (the bigger the bush the better, as you will be able to observe the bee for longer). Observe the bee mindfully (without any thoughts and judgements) for a few minutes, or as long as it is possible. You can do it with several bees one after another if they seem to fly away from you too quickly. The exercise is aimed at coming in a closer understanding with these incredible creatures by observing how they fly, pollinate, move from one flower to another. As we noticed, after a bit of practice you might even be able to tell when the bee is happy by the way it moves!
Have you ever observed a bee in a mindful manner? Did you find it useful? What did you experience during the observation?
We would love to hear from you!
